with the ethereal world, has been an education in itself.
I have found that each and every incident has provided
a profound lesson, or a message to be delivered.
I wish to share this understanding and reduce
fear based denial with these insights...
Transient Spirits: These are spirits that have active energy in their being. They are also known as Intelligent Spirits, as they have the ability to communicate through mediums and other channels, such as dreams, etc. Transient Spirits are the spirits of our friends, loved ones and others who have "crossed over" or "gone to the light." As humans they were knowledgeable that their death was near, or had a deep spiritual belief system and knew death as a transition to new life. They may also have had family who understood the importance of releasing them, so they could go on to a higher place.
Transient Spirits have the ability to come and go, in and out of their loved one's life just like we do as mortals. They are renewed and normally at peace. Although, a spirits personality is the same as it was while mortal. So it is possible that they may also return as obstinate, bossy, or stubborn.
Earth Bound Spirits: These spirits also have active energy and are Intelligent Spirits, but are bound to earth for numerous reasons. They
are the most heartbreaking to experience. When an Earthbound Spirit presents to a medium it is sorrowful, depressed, confused, or uncertain of what has happened to them. They do not know they have passed on. These spirits, under most circumstances, died unexpectedly from auto accidents, murder, drug overdoses, or sicknesses that left them disoriented and possibly unconscious. They may also be bound to earth by people who have prolonged mourning in sorrow, rather than learning to celebrate and cherish the joyful memories of their beloved.
Earthbound spirits can be bound for years, but can be released to cross over to the light by a medium. It is a beautiful and rewarding process, as the spirit actually is seen ascending, luminous light surrounds them, there is a sense of serenity and they clearly understand they are now free of their binds. It is not at all uncommon for family members who have unknowingly bound their spirit to earth, to experience a brief second mourning process, depression, confusion, or physical discomfort after the spirit is set free. This cycle normally passes in a matter of days and is followed by peaceful acceptance. Quite often, the spirit returns to their loved ones in beautiful dreams of encouragement and reassurance, or through the presence of familiar fragrances and reminiscent images. It
is important to them, that we accept and are at peace within ourselves. When emotions challenge us, saying and releasing the words "I am fortunate to have had you in my life," is both therapeutic and uplifting.
Children will follow the example of their parents, or guardians. They will not understand the importance of releasing emotions, acceptance, celebrating joyful memories, emotional healing, or the inevitable cycle of life and death, unless we courageously take the lead and guide them.
Spirit Guides: These too are Intelligent Spirits and act as our "guiding voice." We have numerous guides that will come to us at different times of uncertainty and fear to provide comfort and reassurance, or rejoice during our times of joy. They may be ancestral by nature, but not always.
It is believed that each of us has two primary guides, who are always with us, one feminine and one masculine. They provide that gut instinct that tells us to take caution, think twice, or provide the precise answer for that serious decision we have been struggling with. It also appears they play distinct roles in our life. Our feminine guide appears to help us primarily with love, family, relationships and other interpersonal concerns. Our masculine guide assists us with work, performance, income, and other societal issues. It is important to listen to their guiding voice and trust it.
Drop In's: A term used in mediumship, that is worth acknowledgement. Basically a drop in is an unknown spirit, who presents during a session. I believe these are most likely the spirits of ancestral descent, who have some recognition of the one who is being sought out and have chosen to communicate for them. They may also be the seekers spirit guides, who have come forward to make their presence known and to provide comfort.
Angels and Archangels: Angels are entities and serve mainly as messengers, protectors, or guardians and are very abundant. Our Archangels are the most powerful of all angels and can be called upon
Ghosts: Ghosts are the residual energy of a spirit who has moved on.
Some mediums believe that Ghosts and Earthbound Spirits are all in the same, which is debatable. The differentiation I hold to is that Earth Bound Spirits have the ability to communicate, whereas Ghosts do not. This is because Ghosts are simply a residual film that is etched in the environment. Their appearance is usually in the same location of a house or building, but a spirit can move about from one location to another.
Those who believe in past life, must also believe in reincarnation, as you cannot have one without the other. With that thought, it is possible in some cases, that ghostly residue is a spiritual imprint left after reincarnation. Except in some circumstances, where the spirit energy may have simply weakened or deactivated and appear as a ghost. If so, this energy can be reactivated by a skilled medium or paranormal tech.
Poltergeists: Translates to noisy ghost. A Poltergeist's attention and activity is normally centered around one person, quite often for no apparent reason. They have five levels of activity when present, ranging from foul odors, to faint voices, to moving objects and at times violent attacks against their chosen victim. Some believe that poltergeist activity may actually be telekinetic energy, being involuntarily released by a person with the gift of telekinesis, or undiscovered psychic abilities. In simpler terms, like a lid that is rattling on a kettle about to boil over.
Demonic Entities: These are not very common, but even so not at all fun to encounter. They normally have come into the environment by being summoned in by an individual. An example of this is the careless use of a Ouija Board or participating in a Séance. I personally do not recommend, or practice either, as they have the ability to open channels that should not be. Remember, a demonic entities intention is solely to take control and cast hell over its human dominions life. It can be incredibly difficult to remove one of these entities from it's host environment and extreme cases may require a professional exorcism. Exorcisms are commonly performed by a Catholic Priest, preferably one who is open minded and educated in spirituality, demonology and is skilled in releasing a demonic possession.
Imprinted Energy: Imprinted energy is energy that has "etched" itself in an environment and can be difficult to differentiate from a spirit or entity. Intuitively it most commonly appears as images of people, furnishings, animals, or objects. In some circumstances it can appear active, but may actually be the various images being pieced together like a puzzle or short movie clip in the investigators mind. The difference is that imprinted energy does not seem to change or alter the temperature of an environment, like spiritual energy does, nor does it have the ability to communicate. Imprinted energy has been a challenge to me while participating in investigations, but I have observed that when connecting to spiritual presence I actually buzz, or reverberate from head to toe. With psychic prompts I simply feel momentary sensations relating to the situation.
