Dear Teresa...
(where answers inspire thought)
Q) In what way have your perceptive abilities benefited your life? A) I can feel the complexity of peoples emotions and thoughts with more depth, which helps me understand how to reach out and interact with them better.
Q) What is the toughest part of your work now? A) Helping people understand that the major decisions they make in their life, needs to be made by them, not me. I can see down either path and help them by giving a perception of what the eventual result of their choices may be,
but for absolute peace of mind the final decision must be their own.
Q) What brought you to the path you are on? A) This took several years of development and may take a moment to outline chronologically. In truth intuitive abilities are as common to me as breathing and tends to intensify and strengthen as life goes on, so this wasn't necessarily considered as part of my initial career path. Through the years I have worked in travel, the postal service, retail, etc., but my primary studies and background are in the culinary arts and food service. I was a hobbiest cook as a child and teen, so was interested in pursuing the opportunity as a professional. After culinary school, I was certified as a Chef de Cuisine through the American Culinary Federation and held status with the California Capitol Chef's Association. I worked here and there as a Resident Chef, as a Nutritional Services Supervisor, as an Executive Chef and have assisted with dietary programs in Family Practice. During my early twenties, but more intensely at the beginning of my culinary career, I became curious about the healing energy of foods and food supplements. I decided to pursue professional studies in nutrition and natural healing, while working in related genres and nurturing a family. When my career in food service and nutrition began to take hold, I chose to continue my studies in natural health and acquired a Doctorate. My next pursuit was to own and operate a Body Work and Wellness Spa. I enjoyed my business, but decided to sell it and pursue studies in the natural sciences. I also worked on strengthening my intuitive abilities, which was encouraged by other professionals. Like many people, my path has been challenged with a few obstacles. I've chosen now to shift gears, enjoy the scenery and add another dimension to my professional journey.
Q) As a Perceptive Counselor, has there ever been someone you couldn't reach? A) I have to say yes and there will most likely be others. Sometimes what a person wishes for, may influence their own perception of a situation and it makes it challenging to provide insight from a neutral perspective. It is very important that people be open to listening before seeking insight.
Q) Why do some people have these abilities and others don't? A) As stated on the page "My Perception" many people have these abilities. Because of family belief systems, suppression, fear based denial, etc., a lot of potential remains untapped. I have also considered that some people have a different tolerance to pain, others may have greater sensory abilities.
Q) What direction are you going with your profession? A) My intention is to continue my work and strengthen my knowledge. My primary objective is to help others, to educate and to provide insight. I want to help people see clearly how their physical and ethereal worlds intertwine and write about these subjects with depth.
Q) Do you ever use your gifts for fun, or recreation? A) Yes! In my son's first year of High School football, I told him that if the team won through the fifth game they would be undefeated league champions. Tough run, but they did it. That was exciting, some of the games were really rugged.
Q) What does clairaudience mean? A) Generally speaking, this is when I start receiving answers to your question, before you finish asking it. I also use clairaudience to pick up sound relating to the subject, such as waves crashing, factory noises, busy traffic, even feet walking along a gravel road.
Q) I see you have an interest in working with law enforcement, what is
the reason for that? A) Yes I do. My primary interest is on missing persons and homicide cases, although I have seen and experienced first hand, how other negative influences can take control of a persons life and destroy it. Even though I understand how individuals and families can be affected for years on end, I feel I can offer my skills with a clear and open mind.
Q) Have you ever been accused of being on the dark side, or a witch, or anything like that? A) Not that I know of. I can say that many people are still in the dark ages in regards to the significance of science behind the work that we do. There are major breakthroughs occurring, because of the many dedicated doctors, psychiatrists and scientists who are driven to find answers to psi phenomena. It is important to note that the majority of the people I network with are Christian, most others are spiritual. I personally have no interest in the dark occult, other than to understand it does exist in many forms. I sincerely believe my abilities are of naturally occurring circumstances (during fetal development) and also of a divine source. I have actually conducted baseline surveys and studies regarding these possibilities and have found the results to be quite interesting.
Q) Teresa, I see you use the word psi. What does that mean? A) Psi is a term for parapsychological phenomena. Derived from the twenty third letter of the Greek alphabet; from the Greek psyche, "mind, soul." The word was coined by a biologist and first used by a psychologist in 1942.
Q) What was it like being a child or teen with your gifts? A) Looking back, it was very frustrating and confusing. I didn't understand what was happening and it was a distraction, sort of how I understand ADHD to be. I couldn't concentrate at times on anything. Ironically I was very drawn to and gifted with crafts, sketching and other art forms. I found art to be an outlet I could focus on that calmed me. It all connected later on in life.
Q) Do your abilities make your friends nervous, or uncomfortable? A) I think not, they know I only look into what they ask me to. My social circle is a complex blend of people with privacies I absolutely respect, plus I don't abuse my gifts. Besides, if I dig too deep I may open Pandora's box and discover things that I might regret or could even make me blush :o)
Q) Teresa, it it true that intuitive gifts can be passed through the family? A) Yes, it is true and there can also be a direct line of descendents with these gifts. This is why I believe there may be a link to genetics and what takes place during fetal development, especially in the nervous system. Although, I don't discredit the idea that these gifts may also be of a divine source. This same spiritual source may also choose the precise genealogic chain, where one individual will be responsible enough to bring these gifts forward, recognize these abilities in their own descendants and develop them as well. I have considered that a series of spiritual occurrences takes place in the life of one, to encourage thinking outside of the family box.
